Install HP 5550 on a Pc
Eliminate the installation CD from its package and insert it into your computer's CD or DVD drive. Double-click the 'My Computer' icon in your desktop, double-click the disc icon and double-click 'setup.exe' to run the driver installation CD. Alternatively, click the 'Start' button in the lower-left corner from the desktop and click 'Computer' on the pop-up menu. Double-click the disc icon, and double-click 'setup.exe.'
Click 'Next' in the HP Setup installation wizard and comply with the onscreen directions to finish setting up your printer's drivers. Press the 'Eject' button in your computer's disc drive to eliminate the driver installation CD in the computer system.
Plug the power cable in to the back on the printer and an electrical outlet. Plug the USB cable into the empty USB slot on the back on the printer, and plug the remaining finish into your computer's USB 2.0 cable port. Flip the leading on the printer up to reveal the empty slots for the ink cartridges.
Get rid of the ink cartridges from the package, and remove the sticker on both cartridges. Usually do not touch the copper plates in the cartridges, as this could interfere with all the printer accurately reading the cartridges. Lift the cartridge cradles up, gently insert the black cartridge in to the left slot, and insert the tri-color cartridge into the ideal slot. Push the cartridge cradles down to lock the cartridges into spot, and close the printer cover.
Press the 'Power' button on the front of one's HP printer around the proper side to turn on the printer.
Install HP 5550 on a Macintosh Computer system
Insert the HP 5550 Drivers & Utilities CD into your Mac's optical drive, and double-click the 'HP' CD icon on your desktop to run the application. Click 'Continue' inside the installer window and comply with the onscreen directions to complete the setup process.
7. Press the 'Eject' button on your Macintosh keyboard to eliminate the installation CD from the disc drive.
8. Plug the energy adapter cable in to thepower port located around the back of the HP Deskjet printer, and plug the other finishin the cable into an available electrical outlet. Insert the USB cable into the printer's USB port and an unused USB port in your Mac.
9. Remove the ink cartridges in the package, and remove the sticker on both cartridges. Lift the cartridge cradles up, and insert the black cartridge into the left slot, and insert the tri-color cartridge into the suitable slot. In accordance with the HP site, you will hear a clicking sound that signifies they are firmly in spot.
10. Push the cartridge cradles down to lock the cartridges, and close the printer's cover. Press the 'Power' button on the front of your printer to turn it on.
