calcium fluoride lens
CaF2 Window

Calcium Fluoride exhibits good transmission from 150nm to 7.0 microns in the IR and is often used in cryo cooled thermal imagers.

It exhibits low absorption and has high damage thresholds making it suitable for excimer laser optics.

Due to its wide transmission calcium fluoride may be used in spectroscopic windows and lens systems.

Having a low refractive index means that anti-reflection coatings are rarely necessary.
